Do you know for certain the the Quaran is the inspired and authoritative Word of God?

If you are a devoted Muslim, you most assuredly believe that Islam is the only true religion in the world and that the Quran is the written, true Word of Allah (God), which has been given to Muslims by Allah himself, through the prophet Muhammad. I am sure that you, as a true believer in Islam are fully trusting and believing in every word that is written in the Quran.

If this is so, then according to a third chapter of the Quran, you must believe that the Bible (the Scriptures) is also the inspired Word of God.

This is what the Quran say: “It is He Who has sent down the Book (the Quran) to you (Muhammad) with truth, confirming what came before it. And he sent down the Taurat (Torah, which is of the Old Testament of the Bible) and the Injeel (Gospel, which is the New Testament of the Bible)”. (Surah 3:3)

In another chapter of the Quran, Allah assures Prophet Muhammad (and also through him, all the followers of Islam), that the only ground to stand on for his people is the Bible.

“(Muhammad), tell the People of the Book, “You have nothing unless you follow the Old and New Testaments and that which (the Quran) God has revealed to you…”. (Surah 5:68)

The Quran also assures you that no one can change the words of Allah:

“Read whatever is revealed to you from the Book of your Lord. No one can change His words and you can never find any refuge other than Him”. (Surah 18:27)

(Just notice: This verse does not speak of the Quran exclusively, but about Allah’s words in general. It does not matter which book this is, Allah’s words can not be changed.)

In this point, since we have an understanding that the Bible is inspired by God and fully authoritative, not only for Christians but also for Muhammad himself and all the Muslims, and that the Quran gives a seal of approval to it, we need to look closer at what Islam really teaches about the Bible and Christianity.

Even the Quran says; that Muslims should believe in what has been revealed to Christians and that the Muslim’s God is also the Christian’s God, for this God is one God and that to Him they submit.

“…We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.” (Surah 29:46)

Unfortunately it is not so with Muslims. Although the Quran says all these things, most Muslims cannot accept this idea; and many Muslims would rather say (about Christians): “We don’t believe in your Book anymore, for it was corrupted long ago and your God is a false god.”

But Allah in the Quran said that no one can change his words (Surah 18:27) – above.

(Unless the Book did not came from Allah.)

If the Bible is corrupted, we can only wonder why the Quran says that Christians still had the true, not corrupted Word from God, during the time of Muhammad?

“Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel…” (Surah 7:157)

The reason for this unfortunate rejection of the Bible and of the God of the Christians, by Muslims is very simple.

Ironically, it is not the Bible that has the problem, but the Quran.

The Quran simply contradicts itself.

But let us not just only say this, about the Quran. Let us also look for a moment at the truthfulness of this book and let us compare it with the Bible.

Remember, the Quran assures us that the Bible is inspired and comes from God and that the Word of Allah cannot be changed. So let us put aside, for a moment, this accusation that the Bible or the Quran are corrupted and let us see what the Bible says about God and especially about Jesus.

If the Quran and the Bible are both true then they should be consistent in their revelation, but if not, then one must be false.

God, according to the Bible, is a Trinity. One in nature (or essence) but three in persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

About Jesus, the Bible says, that Son became a man and took upon Himself human flesh and entered creation as Jesus of Nazareth. Then, Jesus willingly died on the cross, for our sins, and rose from the dead, on the third day and ascended to Heaven.

“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scripture…” (1Corinthians 15:1-4)

And now, this is what the Quran says about Jesus:

“And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise.”. (Surah 4:157, 158)

Unfortunately, as we see, the Quran denies all what the Bible says about death of Jesus. As a result Muslims cannot say that they believe in the Bible and that the God in the Bible and the God in the Quran is the same God. Muslims have no other choice but to reject the Bible, because it contradicts the Quran.

O.K.! That is enough of arguing about which book is corrupted. Let us say that all our arguments are too weak to change anybody’s point of view. Let us accept this position, that it could be possible that the Bible was corrupted long before Muhammad and that the Quran is the only true Word of God.

If this is so, then we have a huge problem!!!

It is clearly expressed in the Quran, that Allah, its author, as well as Muhammad, its writer, were strongly convinced, at the time of writing the Quran, that Christians had unblemished and authoritative revelations from God.

“The followers of the Gospels (the New Testament) must judge according to what God has revealed in it. Those who do not judge by the laws of God are evil doers”.( Surah 5:47)

The Quran expresses that the Bible (the Scriptures) was fully authoritative at the time of writing the Quran, not only for Christians, but also for Muhammad himself, and for all believing Muslims. Allah assured Muhammad that if he had any doubts, he should go to “the People of the Book” (Christians) for guidance.

“So if you (O Muhammad) are in doubt concerning that which We have revealed unto you, then ask those who are reading the Book from the Lord [the Taurat (Old Testament) and the Injeel (New Testamentl)] before you. Verily, the truth has come to you from your Lord. So be not of those who doubt (it”). (Surah 10:94)

Here is the problem:

If the Bible was corrupt, before the Quran was written, as most Muslims believe, then Islam must be a false religion and Muhammad must be a false prophet, because they were telling people to study a corrupted book that contradicts the Quran.

But if this is not true, that the Bible was corrupt, while Muhammad was writing the Quran, and if at that time it was a reliable revelation that came from God, then Islam is also a false religion, as well as Muhammad being a false prophet because both rejected the teachings of the Bible.

The conclusion is very simple: The whole problem is not the Bible, but the contradictions and corruption of the Quran, as a foundation for the false teachings of Islam.

The Bible says:

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruit”. (Matthew 7:15, 16)

Our God, the creator of the heavens and the earth, loves His people. God wants us to know the truth and to have a personal relationship with Him.

“Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life”.  (1 John 5:10-13)

God says: “If you have Jesus, you have eternal life, if you do not have Jesus, you do not have eternal life!” It is as simple as that. You can do nothing to free yourself from responsibility for your committed sins.

Please, pay attention to what God is testifying to you, in Ephesians 2:8-9: “By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so no one may boast”.  It is God who did it for you! God in His grace and mercy sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to take the punishment for your sins and to die in your place. This is not you, but God doing this for you! God is giving you the gift of complete forgiveness of your sins and all that He requires you to do is; to receive this gift! The way that God wants you to do this is; to repent of your sins, and in full surrender put your trust and faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. At that very moment, when you do this, in sincerity of your heart, you will be fully forgiven, and you will have eternal life. You will never lose your salvation, because Gods forgiveness for you is eternal and eternity never ends.

Please do not wait! You do not know if you will see tomorrow! Ask God for forgiveness and put your faith in Jesus Christ today! Reject all man’s testimonies and base your faith solely on the testimony of God, which is in the Bible! Read the Word of God yourself! Pray for enlightenment and understanding! Find a good biblical church, so you can grow in your faith and begin the rest of your life in trust and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ!

In the gospel of John Jesus said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. (John 14:6)

Do not make God a liar, by not trusting Him and searching for another way.
